The hunger games final is my favorite social studies assignment because I got to write creatively while also following the plot of the hunger games which was a book I enjoyed reading and taking notes on. I didn't really learn much from this assignment besides that I've gotten better at creative writing, storytelling and that I’ve learned new ways to write. The reason this is social studies is because it shows how governments maintain power, how governments run, how governments like this one punish the people and how scary it is to live in a country like the one in the hunger games. And this is talking about governments and government is a key part of social studies because it helps us learn about society's functions which is a part of social studies. This assignment is also creative writing about a story which isn't really social studies but it is a little part of it.
Another one of my Social Studies assignments I liked was the government assignment. In this assignment I learnt about the most known and used types of governments, the countries that use these systems, why they failed and other facts like what they have most in common and why people in a socialist government have the victim mindset. I thought this assignment was fun because I got to learn a lot about the governments that I didn't know that well. I also liked it because I got to learn about why socialism failed because it sounds like it could work but it definitely doesn't. The reason this is social studies is because learning about the government is a key thing in social studies and it helps us learn about society's functions which is a part of social studies.
